Among the Childrens Ark Preparatory School’s mission is to improve our student’s creativity, learning, and their love for music and harmony. We believe that playing and performing music is fun and functional and it will help develop children’s skills which will be of use to them throughout their lives.
Just recently, the TCAPS gave our young students a chance to spread out their flair through a musical performance held at the Don Antonio Heights Homeowners’ Association Clubhouse.
It was a night of glitz and glamor. The audience were delighted to a variety of musical performances featuring the elementary kids dancing to Corbin Bleu’s “Push It To The Limit” and the pre-schoolers exhibiting their dancing skill to One Direction’s “Strong” and “Shake It Up” together with the all-girls chorale.
This was followed by the group’s inspiring rendition of Lea Salonga’s “I Am But A Small Voice” backed up by a lyre and guitar ensemble.
The gallery — consisting mostly of parents — regaled to an interpretative dance by the chorale and selected dancers to Peabo Bryson’s “A Whole New World.”
“Go The Distance” and “Reflection” was performed by the chorale, also accompanied by the lyre and guitar ensemble.
Our musical director, Coach NiƱo wowed the crowd with his magnificent rendering of an Eric Clapton hit “If I Could Change The World.”
The recital ends with a dance finale for all students featuring the High School Musical’s soundtrack “We’re All In This Together.”
The opportunity to display one’s talent through the encouragement of a teacher and the enthusiasm of a proud parent builds in a child a sense of pride and confidence.
There is always a time and a place for everyone to take the center stage.
